| Kalamazoo,
Michigan is a city of 80,000 people located off 1-94 midway
between Chicago and Detroit, and 45 minutes east
of the wonderful shoreline of Lake Michigan. The airport,
a 15-minute drive from downtown, is serviced by Northwest,
American, Delta and United Airlines. |

| Amtrak,
Indian Trails and Greyhound, all provide services to Kalamazoo’s
newly renovated historic public transportation center, located
just one block east from my studio at
the Park Trades Center. Needless-to-say, the whistle of the
Amtrak train is part of
the ambiance of the workshop’s location! |

| Upon arrival
to the downtown area, one could reasonably get around on foot
to anywhere one needed to go. The most convenient accommodation
is the very nice Radisson Hotel, situated two blocks south
of transportation center and three blocks from my studio. And
sources of arts and entertainment within walking distance include:
the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, Kalamazoo Valley Museum, Civic
Theater, live jazz (The Union), a multi-plex cinema theater
(Rave), the infamous Kalamazoo Brewing Company (Bells Beer),
as well as several award winning restaurants and coffee shops.
Kalamazoo is also home to Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo
College, Kalamazoo Valley Community College, and is host
to the Gilmore International Keyboard Festival as well as
the Kalamazoo Animation Festival International (KAFI). More information on the Park Trades Center and the city
of Kalamazoo may be found on the links
page.
