My
gallery and studio is located
at 326 W. Kalamazoo
Avenue, Suite 320 in downtown Kalamazoo,
Michigan. This three-roomed suite
is positioned on the third floor of a century-old renovated
wax paper factory now known as the Park Trades Center,
where 30 – 40 other creative studios also thrive.
My
woodblock prints are on display in the emerald gallery, the
entryway to the studio, as well as prints by guest artists
and students. On the first Friday of each month, the Arts Council
of Greater Kalamazoo organizes an “Art Hop”, in
which the Park Trades Center studios are included. The Art
Hops are very well attended and add an energizing benefit to
being in this location.
The workshops
are held in a lofty 600 sq ft classroom fitted with educational
displays, books, brushes and other tools specific to Japanese
woodblock printmaking. Huge northern windows light the workspace.
An adjoining office also serves as a storeroom.
