BECOMING MADE: The Artist and a Japanese Woodblock Print
35 minute documentary film and presentation by Mary Brodbeck

Thank you for your interest in my film. Your curiosity tells me that you are interested in inspiring content for your audience or classroom, whether you have a passion for:

  • art in general or Japanese woodblock prints in particular,
  • the elegance of simplicity and the warmth of the handmade,
  • the interior life and creative expression, or
  • nature as inspiration.

Becoming Made explores all of these.

As the creator of this film, I am happy to offer further opportunities for audience engagement by means of a post screening Q & A session. Along with the 35-minute film (on DVD), my presentations are tailored to be between 60 and 90 minutes total length, and may also include an exhibit of my work or a demonstration of the printmaking process. I am happy to design a program to your specific needs.

To schedule a personalized screening in your area – please contact me at mary@marybrodbeck.com.

Mary recently premiered her film Becoming Made at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts as well as presenting a separate evening demonstration of this unique printmaking technique a few days later . . . . Each program was interesting, enjoyable and accessible to the general public . . . . I am happy to recommend her film, demonstration, and workshops to other educators and programmers.”  – Susan Eckhardt, Director of Museum Education, Kalamazoo Institute of Arts
